Cedar Wood named Washington State Recognized School

Cedar Wood named Washington State Recognized School

Cedar Wood Elementary celebrated a major achievement after being recognized by the Washington School Recognition Program for the 2024-25 school year. The school earned recognition for achievement after performing in the top 20% of schools statewide in English language arts and math. Cedar Wood was also recognized for its strong attendance rates, highlighting the school’s commitment to student engagement and success.

Only 16% of schools across Washington received recognition this year, making the honor a significant accomplishment for the Cedar Wood community.

The recognition reflected the hard work and dedication of students, staff, and families who worked together every day to support learning and growth. Cedar Wood’s focus on high-quality instruction, strong relationships, and student support continued to help students thrive both academically and socially.

Superintendent Ian Saltzman praised the efforts of the school community and its commitment to student success.

“I am very proud of our staff for their continued dedication and hard work for student success,” Saltzman said. “The recognition of three of our schools for achievement and growth highlights our district’s deep commitment to student learning and continuous improvement.”

Cedar Wood also received a recognition banner from the State Board of Education in partnership with Northwest Educational Service District 189 to celebrate this outstanding accomplishment.
